Self-guided botanical walking tourNature-loving guests can use the botanical map provided in each guest room to enjoy a leisurely self-guided walking tour exploring 44 of the property's rarest specimens. Many horticultural treasures and exotic plants have been brought in from around the world, and the Resort's meticulous gardeners keep them flourishing at their peak year-round. View North America's largest collection of rare kentia palms, or snap a photograph under the famous Moreton Bay fig tree, which dates back to the 1800s and has branches that span hundreds of feet. Summertime stargazingDuring the summer, the Resort hosts monthly stargazing evenings on the Monte Vista Lawn, where expert astronomers from the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History lead an engaging session of skywatching, pointing out wonders of the night sky and unlocking mysteries of the universe. Unlimited appetisers, beer and wine accompany observations of the moon, constellations and planets through telescopes.
