The Academy of Natural Sciences
The museum’s Dinosaur Hall houses huge skeletons, interactive exhibits, state-of-the-art video technology and a population of mammals, reptiles and invertebrates inhabit the Live Animal Center.
Franklin Institute Science Museum
Four floors of hands-on exhibits dedicated to making science and technology fun for all ages can be found at Franklin Institute Science Museum. Visitors can ride a 350-ton Baldwin locomotive, walk through a giant heart and sit behind the controls of a jet fighter.
Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts
Nearly every renowned American artist has attended, exhibited or taught at the Academy. The 1876 historic landmark building, designed by Frank Furness and George Hewitt, and the new Samuel M.V. Hamilton Building house one of the finest collections of American painting, sculpture and works on paper in the world.
Please Touch Museum for Children
The nation's first museum for children aged seven and younger. Children are introduced to the museum experience with a variety of interactive and hands-on exhibits about art, culture and science.
Rodin Museum
The largest collection of the sculptor's work outside of Paris including casts of The Thinker and The Gates of Hell.
This museum houses major works of fine and decorative art from all over the world, including European art from the Renaissance in 1850, an Asian collection with objects dating from the third millennium BC and a number of works by Philadelphia artists.

The Schwarz Gallery
Philadelphia is home to several concentrated areas of unique art galleries of all types. The Schwarz Gallery – a mere 5-minute drive or easy walk from the hotel – features American paintings from the 18th to 20th centuries.
Annenberg Center
Located at the University of Pennsylvania, high-quality professional theatricals are featured, including the Annenberg Center Theater Series, Dance Celebration, the International Theater Festival for Children, film and other specials.
Located on Pine Street, from 9th Street to 12th Street, fine furniture and funky collectibles are showcased.
Atwater Kent Museum
Over 40,000 objects spanning the city's 300-year history are housed in the Museum, with particular emphasis on the material culture of urban life in the 19th and 20th centuries. This museum now is the home of the famous Norman Rockwell exhibit, which includes a comprehensive collection of Mr. Rockwell's Saturday Evening Post cover art.
This restored colonial home, located in Philadelphia's Historic District, is where Betsy Ross lived and where she is credited with making the first U.S. flag.
Christ Church
The house of worship for 15 of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Plaques mark the pews once occupied by George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and Betsy Ross. Founded in 1695, the church typifies early Georgian architecture.
Elfreth's Alley
The oldest residential street in America, Elfreth's Alley boasts 30 houses dating from 1728 to 1836 and offers a small museum that describes the street's history.
Four Seasons hotel is located within a minimum of 10 minute drive from the above theaters. Performances are between the months of September and May with the theaters becoming “dark” between the months of June through August.
Independence National Historical Park
America's most historic square mile, Independence National Historical Park includes the pavilion housing the Liberty Bell, one of the nation's most hallowed symbols, and Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were adopted. The National Constitution Center, also located here, tells the story of the US Constitution through more than 100 interactive and multimedia exhibits.
National Constitution Center
Located in Independence National Historical Park, it is the first museum in the world dedicated to honouring and explaining the U.S. Constitution through more than 100 interactive and multimedia exhibits, photographs, film, sculpture, text and artifacts.
Old City Philadelphia is a section of downtown that features many progressive and modern art galleries. Seasonally, this neighborhood features "First Friday" on the first Friday of each month, when the galleries all stay open late. Many offer wine and cheese receptions, musical performances and artist lectures.
Penn's Landing
A ferry boat from Penn's Landing travels to the New Jersey State Aquarium, which focuses on regional East Coast marine life. Penn's Landing offers a variety of international festivals throughout the summer and is home to the Blue Cross River ice skating rink during the winter.
This farmers' market, inside the historic Reading Railroad train shed, houses a diverse collection of stands selling foodstuffs and produce, including the products of Pennsylvania's Amish community.
Snyderman Works Gallery
A gallery not to be missed is Snyderman Works Gallery, located in the heart of the Old City gallery area.
Society Hill Playhouse
Philadelphia's oldest professional off-Broadway theatre, the Society Hill Playhouse presents contemporary comedy and drama.
The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts
This complex on the Avenue of the Arts in Center City complements the venerable Academy of Music and incorporates public amenities and two major venues: Verizon Hall and the Perelman Theater. The Academy of Music is also operated by the Kimmel Center as its third major venue. The Kimmel facilities host eight resident companies: The Philadelphia Orchestra, Peter Nero and the Philly Pops, Philadanco, The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, The Philadelphia Chamber Music Society and American Theater Arts for Youth. The Academy of Music is home to the Opera Company of Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania Ballet.
The Philadelphia Zoo
The nation's oldest zoo is an exciting destination for the whole family to enjoy.
A bustling area dominated by college campuses, including the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University. Cultural treasures on campus include examples of the work of architects Frank Furness and Louis I. Kahn. The University City Science Center is recognised as an incubator for technology companies.
University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology
A cache of golden jewels from the royal tombs of Ur are among the treasures of the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology.
Adventure Aquarium
This aquarium features many hands-on exhibits and a wonderful outdoor children's garden.

The Mann Center for Performing Arts
Conveniently situated in beautiful Fairmount Park, The Mann Center for Performing Arts offers a diverse array of star-studded entertainment with internationally acclaimed artists. Performances are seasonal, as the Mann is an open-air theater.
Philadelphia offers a number of venues for concerts and other entertainment events, including Tweeter Center, the First Union Center and the Mann Music Theater.

Wachovia Center
Home to the Philadelphia Flyers hockey team and the Philadelphia 76ers basketball team. Venue for concerts, wrestling and figure skating.
Southwest of Philadelphia is the lovely Brandywine River Valley. The subtle natural beauty of this area of rolling hills, estates and horse farms inspired three generations of artists named Wyeth. The Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford is home to works by N.C., Andrew and Jamie Wyeth, as well as being a showcase of 19th- and 20th-century American art.
Morris Arboretum and Gardens of the University of Pennsylvania
One of America's finest Victorian landscape gardens, as listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Sesame Place
This children's amusement park features live stage shows, water rides and character parades with characters from the television show "Sesame Street." Hours vary seasonally, so contact the Concierge for hours of operation.

Valley Forge National Historical Park
The site of George Washington's winter encampment of 1777–1778, offers a vast green expanse for recreation, as well as Revolutionary War monuments.
Located in Wilmington, Delaware, the duPont estate features an unrivalled collection of 18th- and 19th-century American furnishings.
Longwood Gardens
The world's premier horticultural display contains eleven thousand types of plants, flourishing throughout 425 hectares (1,050 acres) of gardens and woodlands. The 1.6-hectare (4-acre) conservatory shelters 20 indoor gardens created by industrialist Pierre S. duPont.
