Play in the city itinerary
New York offers an exciting menu of attractions and activities for families. Take a walk through Central Park, visit the city's many museums and famous landmarks, catch a ball game or explore bustling Times Square and other eclectic neighbourhoods. The Concierge can arrange exclusive tours or access at select sites with advanced notice. We invite you to discuss your needs with us.
Day one
- Use your spending credit to enjoy breakfast in your room through In-Room Dining.
- Jump on a Hop-On, Hop-Off Gray Line Bus tour and head to the South Street Seaport. Buy a two-day pass so you can use it on day two.
- Have lunch at Adrienne's (pizza), Mad Dogs & Beans (Mexican) or Financier Patisserie (sandwiches) – all on historical Stone Street near the seaport.
- Head over to the National Museum of the American Indian, which is part of the Smithsonian Institution.
- Take a cruise to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
- Return to the Hotel to freshen up, then take a five-minute walk to one of the many family-friendly restaurants close to the Hotel.
Day two
- Savour breakfast in the Hotel's restaurant (use your spending credit and take advantage of the children's menu)
- Head over to the zoo in Central Park.
- Stroll to Victoria Gardens Amusement Park at Wollman Rink.
- Pick out your favourite horse-drawn carriage and take a ride through Central Park. Tell your driver that you want to end up near The Dakota.
- Head down Central Park West to the Time Warner Center for lunch at Whole Foods, Landmarc or Bouchon Bakery.
- Walk towards Times Square and spend some time exploring popular stores like M&M's World, Hershey's Times Square, Toys "R" Us (which has an indoor Ferris wheel), Sephora, music shops, Ripley's Believe It Or Not, Madame Tussauds and ESPN Zone, and look at the MTV Studios and visit the store.
- In the evening, dine at the historical P.J. Clarke's restaurant, great for families.
- After dinner, jump on the subway and head to the new Yankee Stadium or Citi Field to cheer on the Yankees or Mets.
Day three
- Fridays in the summer, catch an early-morning outdoor concert at NBC's Today.
- Enjoy breakfast at Dean & DeLuca, right across from Rockefeller Center.
- Head over to the Museum of Natural History to explore, join in a scavenger hunt and take a lunch break.
- Head over to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, where you can see the Concorde.
- In the evening, enjoy dinner at the Hotel's TY lounge (check out the children's menu).
- Walk over to Dylan's Candy Bar or Serendipity 3 (five minutes away) for an after-dinner ice cream.
- Back at the Hotel, select a movie from the Concierge's complimentary library.
