At Four Seasons Hotel Miami, the inspiration for our new children’s clubhouse may be seen from our upper floors. Looking out over Biscayne Bay, one can watch manatees grazing in the estuary waters, and filling their wrinkled, whiskered faces with tufts of sea grass, especially during the winter months.

Some time ago, we nicknamed one of them Manny, and turned him into the Hotel’s mascot. We may not be able to point Manny out to you, seeing as manatees tend to migrate from feeding location to feeding location. One day Manny might be at Port of Miami, the next day might find him traveling past Port Everglades.

The bay’s protective environment, however, always remains constant. It’s a place where manatees and other sea creatures can play and frolic to their hearts’ delight. From there came the notion of Manny’s Club, a safe, playful space for kids.

During the week, when your kids have had their fill of swimming in the children’s pool, they can drop by Manny’s Club to find a host of activities. For the little ones, there are colourful toys and games, along with a rocking moose. For the older kids, it’s all about the video games: we offer the latest Xbox 360 Kinect and Wii games, along with Playstation 2 and Nintendo Game Cube titles.

Come the weekend, take your kids out of the clubhouse and into the kitchen. Every Saturday, Chef Marko invites future chefs to the Pastry shop to don chef hats and jackets, and learn some of his best kept — and most delectable — secrets. Then it’s back to Manny’s Club for Movie Time. Weekend programs are fee applicable.

Along the way, your children will most certainly acquire a sweet souvenir of their time in the clubhouse — a chocolate version of Manny. Admittedly, odds are strong this souvenir won’t make it home in one piece, if at all.
