Art Deco District

Long famous for its 800 buildings designed in the distinctive architectural style of the 1930s, the historic Art Deco District in South Beach encompasses one square mile of Miami Beach. Beginning on 5th Street, it includes Washington, Collins and Ocean Drive. Many of its buildings are listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Barnacle State Historic Site

On the National Register of Historic Sites, this is the oldest home in Dade County. The Ralph Middleton Munroe House was built in 1891, on the bayfront in Coconut Grove. It is one of the few places where visitors can find a trace of the once enormous Miami Hammock and learn about life in Miami in the 1800s.

Everglades National Park

A lush 1.4-million-acre (570,000-hectare) ecosystem that supports hundreds of species of animals and birds, including alligators, crocodiles, manatees, storks, turtles and bald eagles. Fairchild Tropical Park

The 83-acre (34-hectare) Fairchild Tropical Garden is the largest tropical botanical garden in the continental United States. Historic Cauley Square

Miami Seaquarium

For a wonderful day of family fun, visit the Miami Seaquarium. In a park overlooking Biscayne Bay, the Seaquarium offers dolphin and killer whale shows, exhibits and educational presentations. Flipper Lagoon The Flipper Dolphin Show takes place at the Flipper Lagoon, filming location of the 1960s television show. The Atlantic bottlenose dolphins jump, spin, tail-walk and flip, all choreographed to music. Killer Whale and Dolphin Show The centrepiece of the Seaquarium is the Whale and Dolphin Stadium, home to the killer whale Lolita and her Pacific white-sided dolphin companions. Be aware: spectators often come out drenched with spray, but they love every soaked second. Golden Dome Sea Lion Show The Golden Dome landmark is home to the Sea Lion Show. Throughout the day, guests may also enjoy the Sea Lion Exhibit, where they can encounter a playful California sea lion. Feeding sessions throughout the day. Top Deck Dolphin Show The Top Deck Dolphin Show features Atlantic bottlenose dolphins. Guests brave the "splash zone" for a closer look. Keep your eyes open: you might be able to spot a baby dolphin! Bass Museum of Art

Incorporating John and Johanna Bass’s donated art collection, the Bass Museum of Art was established in 1963. The museum was Miami’s first public building to exhibit artwork, and was designed to preserve the symmetry of the formal gardens of Collins Park. Deering Estate at Cutler

Gold Coast Railroad Museum

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens

John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park
