General information

Maui's verdant West Maui Mountains are the eroded slopes of an extinct volcano, while East Maui is composed of Haleakala, a 10,023-foot (3,055-metre) dormant volcano crowned by a landscape of lava rock.

On the southwestern coast, enjoying Maui's finest beaches and driest, sunniest weather, lie Wailea and the Four Seasons Resort Maui. Wailea's white sand beaches are excellent for swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, whale watching and lazy strolls along the sand. A visit confirms the truth of the local saying "Maui No Ka Oi" – Maui is the best.
