My Four Seasons

Home to a new Nobu

In both Hawaii and Japan, cuisines emphasize the very freshest seafood, drawn from the oceans that surround their respective islands. So it’s fitting that Four Seasons Resort Lanai at Manele Bay is now home to a world-class Japanese restaurant, Nobu Lanai. It’s one of the newest outposts from renowned Chef Nobuyuki “Nobu” Matsuhisa, joining his other restaurants in 26 countries around the world.

At Nobu Lanai, Chef Nobu’s award-winning, playful and innovative Japanese cuisine is accented with authentic local Hawaiian ingredients. The menu distills Chef Nobu’s classical training as a sushi chef in Tokyo, his time in South America and his ongoing global travels. Diners can choose from a tantalizing menu that offers some of Chef Nobu’s favourite dishes, such as black cod miso with butter lettuce, new-style sashimi (thinly sliced whitefish sashimi in yuzu soy sauce, garnished with julienned ginger, chives and sesame seeds, then drizzled with hot sesame and olive oils) and sashimi salad. Dessert options include Nobu’s signature “bento box” with flourless chocolate cake, goma tuile (a delicate cookie) and green tea ice cream.

Truly a feast for the senses, the 120-seat restaurant is perched cliffside with sweeping panoramic views overlooking a protected marine preserve – definitely one of the Nobu empire’s most memorable settings.
