Throughout the year, the Maldives enjoys warm, humid weather made pleasant by constant sea breezes. The northern part of the island chain, where Landaa Giraavaru is located, averages slightly less annual rainfall than the southern part. May to November is the wet season, known as hulhangu. By late November, exceptionally calm seas mark the beginning of the dry season, known as iruvai, from December to April. The daytime high is around 30ºC (86ºF) year-round, dropping to about 25ºC (77ºF) in the evenings.
