This historic royal occasion will be honoured by a series of celebratory events taking place in London, and across the United Kingdom, throughout the year.
- 2012 Olympic Games: The eyes of the world will be drawn to London on July 27th for the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games. The world's greatest festival of sport will be hosted in London from July 27 to August 12, 2012, with athletes from some 205 nations taking part in 300 events.
- Royal Ascot: Taking place in June, this is the horse-racing event of the year.
