Backstage At Varanda Restaurant
Kitchens once, like children, were meant to be seen but not heard. The point was that fine dining should be separated from the clanging chaos of the kitchen. Your food was brought out to you neatly, proficiently and in perfect synchronicity.
But these days, where everything’s a show, a the preparation of the chef and his staff is now being brought out to the fore. You are literally there beside him watching the sausage being made and feeling the heat of the flames.
The restaurant at Varanda at Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon is no exception. As the Hotel’s Director of Food and Beverage Adrian Messerli explains: “On Easter Sunday we gave our guests the chance to explore what goes on behind-the-scenes at our restaurant. The feedback was so positive that we have decided to offer this unique experience on a more regular basis.”
At select Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon Sunday lunch buffets, you’ll have the chance to rub shoulders and receive cooking tips from the chefs.
