Ayurveda-inspired treatments

Ayurveda is India’s traditional system of medicine. The ancient system’s name is Sanskrit for “knowledge of life,” and its basic premise is that everything that exists in the vast external universe also appears in the internal cosmos of the human body. Our Ayurveda-inspired treatments will help your body achieve balance.

Usada Jimbaran

This treatment combines Ayurveda-inspired treatments to maximise their therapeutic benefits. Abhyanga massage with our garden compress calms the body with nurturing, long strokes in preparation for the cleansing Udvartana scrub. With the body at peace, Shirodhara then massages the mind. Linger in a warm herbal flower bath with a cup of Balinese loloh, an organic elixir.

3 hours – USD 190.00

Neem dream

Indian head, neck and shoulder massage, or champi, has been practiced for thousands of years. Hands move knowingly from the neck and shoulder and then onto the head – even the earlobes are treated with the therapist’s intuitive touch. Next, an equally attentive Abhyanga massage follows. The therapist then moves to the face, where gentle but thoroughly cleansing, all-natural neem-infused products bring the benefits of Bali’s “garden pharmacy” to sensitive facial skin, relieving irritations and reducing redness. As the neem mask works its wonders, a marma-point Indian massage focuses on releasing any remaining tension from the head’s many pressure points.

3 hours – USD 200.00

Udvartana scrub

Meaning “to promote” or “to elevate” in Sanskrit, Udvartana will energise your entire body. The treatment includes an herbal scrub made of sandalwood and spice to invigorate and exfoliate your skin, combined with an Abhyanga massage and an herbal flower bath.

120 minutes – USD 145.00

Garden compress

To relieve muscle aches and joint pains, Balinese villagers go into their gardens to gather specific herbs and spices that they bundle and then warm to create a healing compress. From our neighbours we have learned to blend medicinal organics like chamomile, ginger, cloves, star anise, nutmeg and cardamom, which we wrap in cloth following the Ayurvedic tradition. Our therapists start with Abhyanga massage to stroke away tension throughout the body, integrating these warm, aromatic compresses to areas of discomfort. Knots kneaded away, dip into a warm herbal flower bath purely for pleasure.

120 minutes – USD 145.00

Shirodhara

Unexpectedly calming, this slow drizzle of warm herbal oil directly onto the “third eye” chakra follows the path to enlightenment that Eastern philosophy identifies directly between the eyebrows. Start with Abhyanga massage to prepare the body to receive a massage for the mind that positively stimulates the nervous system to create pleasure and enhance relaxation.

90 minutes – USD 135.00

Abhyanga massage

Abhyanga is the Sanskrit word for “oil bath,” and the treatment combines long, looping strokes over the length of your body, with an emphasis on relaxation. Warmed organic herbal oil selected for your dosha is lavished on the body to rebalance the elemental constitution, calming the skin, nerves and mind. The Ayuvedic sages advised adherents to take this treatment daily, aware even in ancient times that relieving stress would improve mental clarity, stamina and sleep while promoting longevity.

60 minutes – USD 85.00 | 90 minutes – USD 115.00
