General information

Jakarta is the capital of Indonesia and sprawls over 25 kilometres (16 miles) on the island of Java, one of thousands of islands in this country, which spreads between the Pacific and Indian oceans. The estimated population is over nine million people.

The city centre fans out from around Merdeka (Freedom) Square, which contains the central gold-tipped landmark of the National Monument (Monas). It is Jakarta's most prominent landmark. The port of entry for many tourists and business people, Jakarta is home to a dynamic contrast between western-style skyscrapers, modern urban lifestyles and traditional Indonesian culture. International visitors enjoy the city's history, excellent shopping and decadent nightlife.

Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta is located in the heart of the business district. The surrounding areas offer a wide range of activities for both business and leisure travellers.

Please note: Passports must be valid for a minimum of six (6) months from the date of arrival for entry into Indonesia. Please check with your local Indonesian government representative for visa requirements.
