Four Seasons Opens First Mountain Resort in Jackson Hole
The unparalleled beauty of Jackson Hole’s Teton mountains provide a stunning backdrop for the first mountain resort in Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts portfolio of luxury properties. This intimate 124-room retreat is set at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Teton Village, surrounded by unspoiled wilderness. With its prime, slope-side location and services customized to meet the needs of the outdoor enthusiast,
Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole provides the ideal location from which to explore the great outdoors.
Surrounded by America’s Wilderness
Mountain peaks, untouched forests, sparkling rivers and abundant wildlife define Jackson Hole, located on the doorstep of Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks. Only three per cent of the land in Jackson Hole is privately owned; the other 3.8 million acres (1.53 million hectares) are federally owned or state managed. As a result, the region is part of the largest intact eco-system in the U.S., offering visitors an abundance of opportunities to enjoy outdoor recreation and view natural beauty.
Once the terrain of cowboys and rugged adventurers, the scene today draws outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy blending in with the laid-back, casual ambiance. The area’s low humidity creates ideal powder snow, averaging 500 inches (1,270 cm). When the snow melts and the wildflowers bloom, a summer retreat is unveiled with warm-weather sports and activities. Year-round shopping and cultural diversions are plentiful with art galleries, museums, theater, and art and music festivals.
Hitting the Slopes
The Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has the longest continuous vertical of any ski area in the U.S., towering 4,139 ft. (1,262 m) from the valley floor to the top of Rendezvous Mountain. Here, visitors experience challenging terrain, offering some of the world’s best skiing and snowboarding conditions. Yet there is enough variety for beginners and intermediates to excel at their own pace on groomed runs and open bowls. Other snow activities include dog sledding and snowshoeing in the surrounding mountain areas, and sleigh rides on the National Elk Refuge.
Leave the Planning to Four Seasons
Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole’s location at the base of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort provides instant ski-in/ski-out access to lifts and an aerial tram. Another major benefit is the Resort’s own Ski Concierge – the first of its kind in the area. This service arranges lift tickets, lessons, equipment rental and tuning. Special touches include overnight ski tuning and in-room boot fitting.
During the warmer months, guests wanting help to plan their outdoor adventure will consult with the Base Camp Concierge. The concierges know the best spots for bird watching, hiking, cycling, fly-fishing, horseback riding, river rafting, rock climbing, hot-air ballooning and paragliding. They can also plan expeditions at National Parks, arrange tee times at nearby championship golf courses and reserve a court at a local tennis centre. Other services range from deluxe picnic lunches to the complimentary loan of the latest in hiking shoes, back packs and trekking poles, and preparation of all the essentials required for excursions. There’s also a complimentary overnight hiking boot cleaning service.
Allure of the American West
Sloped gently into the mountainside, the Resort’s 5.5 acres (2.2 hectares) have expansive views of Sleeping Indian and Rendezvous Mountains, the Snake River basin and the wildflower meadows of Jackson Hole Valley. The interior design reflects the heritage of the American West with use of natural, indigenous materials, while providing a comfortable and elegant environment. Guest rooms exude a lodge-like coziness with large stone fireplaces, beds with leather headboards, and local touches of basket-woven crafts and Native American rugs. Each of the 106 guest rooms and 18 suites provides private balconies or terraces with mountain or valley views and ample storage for bulky equipment.
Dining Wrapped in Panoramic Mountain Views
The Resort offers three restaurants, each infusing the traditional motifs of the Old West with Four Seasons-style sophistication and impeccable service. With prime slope-side views of Rendezvous Mountain, the
Westbank Grill centres around an open kitchen where guests are seated by a large wood-burning fireplace indoors or outside on a heated terrace with its own fireplace. The cuisine features the flavour and ingredients of the American West, with an emphasis on seasonal selections of grilled meat, game and fish.
Adjacent to the Westbank Grill, the
Lobby Lounge is an intimate bar and lounge with a sleek, Western look. Guests enjoy expansive mountain views and the coziness of a stone fireplace, whether they are sitting indoors or on the outdoor patio. Located at the base of Rendezvous Mountain’s ski runs at 6,438 ft. (1,935 m) above sea level is the après-ski bar,
The Peak. It is an ideal spot for both skiers and non-skiers who want to savour informal, American fare and a wide selection of cocktails and wines. An extensive in-room dining menu is also available round-the-clock.
Alpine Spa Captures a Sense of Serenity
Capturing the natural serenity of the mountain wilderness, the full-service 11,685-sq.-ft. (1,085-m²) spa provides a comprehensive range of massages and spa treatments inspired by the surrounding ancient forests and mountain streams. A perfect place for relaxation, invigoration and renewal, the Spa features 16 treatment rooms, including two suites with fireplaces, a steam room, a cold plunge pool, a whirlpool and a Tranquility Lounge.
The fresh mountain air may be appreciated year-round in the fully heated, 75-ft. (23-m) outdoor pool and in any of the three hot-spring-style outdoor whirlpools. It’s easy to continue workout routines in the fully equipped fitness centre and look one’s best with the services of the Resort’s hair and nail salon.
For Adventurers of All Ages
Four Seasons will introduce its youngest guests to the nearby Kids Ranch, a licensed child-care facility operated by Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, which offers activities for children from six months to 17 years of age. Winter programs include ski and snowboard lessons. Summer programs feature hikes, outdoor sports, science and art projects, mountaineering, orienteering and environmental awareness. At the Resort’s Young Adults’ Entertainment Center, teens may easily entertain themselves with table games, computer and video games.
The Resort’s Concierge also helps families create special memories. Possibilities range from an outing to the National Elk Refuge to the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center, near Yellowstone National Park.
An Intimate Mountain Retreat for Meetings and Social Events
With 8,000 sq. ft. (743 m²) of function and banquet space, Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole provides a contemporary and casually luxurious setting, ideal for meetings, incentives, weddings and social events. The Cottonwood Ballroom features a wood-burning fireplace, and direct access to a spacious outdoor terrace with a fireplace, which opens to a function lawn.
