Mark Hellrung, General Manager
With over 30 years of experience in the luxury hospitality field, Mark Hellrung, returns to the islands as the general manager of Four Seasons Resorts Lāna`i, encompassing both the 236-room Four Seasons Resort Lāna`i at Manele Bay and the 102-room Four Seasons Resort Lāna`i,The Lodge at Koele.
Having worked on the Hawaiian island of Kauai previously, as well as on the Caribbean island of Nevis, Hellrung says of his appointment on Lāna`i, "I’m enjoying my return to the islands, and Lāna`i is truly a world-class private island destination. The rebranding of these two marvelous resorts is a great experience, and seeing the reaction of our guests to these changes is exciting for us all.”
As general manager of Four Seasons Resorts Lāna`i, Mr. Hellrung oversees all day-to-day operations at the Four Seasons Resort Lāna`i at Manele Bay and Four Seasons Resort Lāna`i, The Lodge at Koele. His management style reflects the epitome of class and hospitality, ensuring a staff that thrives on delivering a highly personalized experience to each guest.
Mr. Hellrung began his career with Westin Hotels, where he served in various operational positions for over 15 years in Houston, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco and Kauai. In 1993, Mr. Hellrung joined Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in New York, and later served as general manager at Four Seasons properties in Nevis and Houston, before assuming the position on Lana`i.
Mr. Hellrung graduated from the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel & Restaurant Management at the University of Houston where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. In addition to chairing the SuperBowl XXXVIII VIP committee, Mr. Hellrung has served on the board of directors of various civic and professional organizations.
Mr. Hellrung lives in Lana`i City with his wife Loretta, and enjoys golf, travel and 4x4 adventures on Lāna`i's many rugged trails.
