5 Must-See Breweries
in Bayou City
MEET Benjamin Scott
Benjamin Scott started at Four Seasons Hotel Houston in 2016 as a Front Office Agent & Housekeeping Coordinator, where he was eventually promoted to his current position of Corporate Catering Sales Manager. Benjamin is a native Houstonian who has a passion for hospitality, craft beer and all things Houston Astros.
Saint Arnold’s Brewing Company
The oldest craft beer brewery in the state of Texas, Saint Arnold’s has made a name for itself in this city. This brewery has some of the best beers around – from seasonal to year-round favourites. It is a popular weekend spot for tours to learn about the brewing process, grab a pint and eat good food. My top Saint Arnold’s pick: Amber Ale.
Karbach Brewing Company
Karbach is a city favourite. Not only do they offer delicious craft beers, but they have amazing food as well at the Karbach Restaurant + Patio. Don’t forget to bring your pet, because the brewery is dog friendly. The local favourite is the Lovestreet.
8th Wonder Brewery
8th Wonder Brewery is one of the newer yet well established breweries in Houston. Taking on a true Houston identity, the brewery is named after the Houston Astrodome, which was once deemed the “Eighth Wonder of the World”. Located in the trendy EaDo part of town, it is a popular spot for weekend outings. My favourite 8th Wonder brew is Dome Faux’m.
Buffalo Bayou Brewery
This is a true hidden gem in the brewery scene. Buffalo Bayou Brewery prides itself on being “a new twist on an old craft” and does it very well. You will not find an “average” brew here. My favourite is the Great White Buffalo.
Real Ale Brewing Company
Although it’s not quite in Houston, Real Ale Brewing Company features some of Houstonians' favourite brews. Located right outside of Austin in the small town of Blanco, Real Ale is a quick drive from the Hotel. Probably one of their most famous (and my personal favourite) is the Fireman’s 4 Blonde Ale.
