Sample Itineraries

Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake can help customize itineraries for your group or party by offering a taste of the history and culture of Hangzhou to make each day unique. We invite you to discuss your needs with us. The following is a sample group itinerary.

Day 1

3:00 pm    |    Arrival at the Hotel

Check in and freshen up, then find relaxation at the Lakeside Paradise.

Without even stepping out of the Hotel, you can find the stunning views of West Lake easily within reach. Flowing water and grassy land intertwine across the garden, threaded by a long scenic corridor. Let your senses be your guide as you take a leisurely stroll in the hotel garden, where over 40 varieties of flowers and plants — from the noble lotus flower to the fragrant osmanthus — are carefully cultivated for your enjoyment. Wandering the elegant structures designed in traditional Chinese architectural style, you can almost feel like you have gone back in time, walking side by side with the great poets and writers of ancient China, and being inspired by Hangzhou’s incomparable culture heritage, stunning scenery and romantic ambience.

4:00 pm to 5:30 pm    |    Afternoon Tea at Lobby Lounge

Nestled beside the front reception area in a comfortable and welcoming setting, the Lobby Lounge is the perfect place to meet or relax. Traditional tea service highlights Hangzhou’s famous green tea, Longjing.

7:45 pm to 8:45 pm   |    Impression West Lake Show

Staged on the West Lake, the performance is vivid and incredibly beautiful. Mixed with the myths and legends of the West Lake, the show leads you to a sweet thousand-year dream. The state-of-the-art sound system is surely to offer a surprising musical enjoyment. The director of this show is Mr. Zhang Yimou, who was in charge of the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

9:00 pm    |    Dinner in WL Bistro

Situated on the ground floor, our all-day dining restaurant WL Bistro puts a uniquely modern twist on the alluring flavors of Asian cuisine. Providing the perfect backdrop for the cuisine is WL Bistro's timeless decor, which offers a choice of dining in an elegant indoor atmosphere or relaxed alfresco style at our outdoor terrace, overlooking the infinity pond and the enchanting West Lake.

Day 2

Early Morning    |     Jogging or Cycling Tour

Explore the authentic beauty of Hangzhou by running or cycling around West Lake.

6:30 am to 10:30 am    |    Breakfast

Breakfast is at your leisure, available at WL Bistro or In Room Dining.

10:30 am to 12:00 noon    |    Mid-morning Exploration

Visit Lingyin Temple and Fei Lai Feng, or take an extraordinary boat experience.

One of the most famous ancient monasteries in China, Lingyin is one of the largest and wealthiest Buddhist temples, with numerous pagodas and grottoes.

When it comes to reveling in the classic beauty of West Lake, nothing compares to an old fashioned boat ride. At Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake, we have designed an incredibly unique boat experience that will set your boat float and mark a perfect journey of your Hangzhou adventure.

12:30 pm    |    Lunch at Jiang Nan Yi

Get a taste of authentic cuisine at a local Chinese restaurant.

4:00 pm to 6:00 pm    |    Swimming in the pool and The SPA

All treatments at The SPA have been custom-designed exclusively for Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake.  The signature treatment is nothing short of imperial:  It is inspired by the famous book of illustrations, The Emperor’s Seasonal Pursuit of Pleasures in the Course of the Seasons by court painter Chen Mei, commissioned by Emperor Qianlong in 1738, during the Qing Dynasty.

Each of four seasonally-inspired rituals features elements of bath, scrubs, wraps and massage using indigenous ingredients prized for their therapeutic qualities.

7:00 pm    |    Dinner at Jin Sha

Jin Sha means “golden sands,” reflecting its position on the shores of West Lake. The look is inspired by traditional Jiang Nan style, but is very much a contemporary environment with sleek woods, a rich palette of natural colors complemented by deep red and black, and striking lighting design.

Each of the eleven private dining rooms offers water views, with terraces to enjoy the outdoors while dining. Jin Sha’s menu presents a modern culinary vision of authentic local, Shanghainese and Cantonese dishes made healthier with the freshest ingredients available in Hangzhou, exemplifying sophisticated dining in the new China.

After Dinner    |     Drinks and Relaxation

Sip a cocktail and unwind in Nanshan Road, Xihu new land.

1:30 pm to 3:30 pm    |    Afternoon Exploration of Hefang Street and Hu Qing Yu Tang

The street stretches from Wushan Square all the way down to Zhonghe Road. Turn right and you’ll end up at the Drum Tower Antique Market. On the way to check out the old stuff, you can pick up some new. There are the touristy tidbits: swords, masks, paintings, chops and tea. But, you can also find some interesting buys. Definitely be prepared to bargain, and if you can’t get them down, wait until nightfall then hit the Night Market.

4:00 pm to 5:00 pm    |    Sightseeing at Lei Feng Pagoda

Lei Feng Pagoda is a tower by the West Lake in Hangzhou which was originally constructed in the year AD 975. It has been a popular tourist attraction since being rebuilt in 2002. During the Yuan dynasty, Leifeng Pagoda was still well-maintained. During the Ming dynasty, Japanese pirates attacked Hangzhou. Suspecting it contained weapons, they burned its wooden elements, leaving only the brick skeleton, as can be seen from Ming paintings of the West Lake. Leifeng Pagoda was originally an octagonal, five-storied tower of brick and wood.

Enjoy a meal at Jin Sha or the local restaurant Jie Xiang Lou (Zi Xuan Resort).
