Advanced body treatments

These treatments are inspired by traditions from around the world. Each begins with a de-stressing foot ritual.

Aromatherapy body massage

Once the foot ritual has begun, relax into a full-body massage incorporating techniques to help with lymphatic drainage and tension release.

85 minutes – GBP 125.00

Balinese body massage

This Indonesian experience involves long, graceful strokes. The therapist also uses hot stones on tense areas, to aid further relaxation. In this free-flowing treatment, your body is worked on as a whole, allowing positive energy to be released. It is well suited to clients who are familiar with regular massage.

85 minutes – GBP 125.00

Lomi Lomi massage

Lomi Lomi massage originates from Hawaii. The therapist uses a kneading action that clears your energy and allows the natural energy of your body to flow. The movements are unstructured, freeing the therapist to work with your unique energy.

85 minutes – GBP 125.00

Stimulating hip and thigh treatment

This specialised treatment – comprising a deep massage, lymph drainage and an algae mask – stimulates the circulatory and lymphatic systems, concentrating on the areas of the body prone to blockages, cellulite, fluid retention and uneven skin texture. Feel smoother and lighter.

55 minutes – GBP 105.00

ESPA advanced ayurvedic treatments

Ayurveda, “the science of life,” arises from an ancient philosophy originating in India. It looks at the imbalance in each individual and works to balance mind, body and spirit. It conceives of five elements: fire, water, earth, ether and air. These qualities represent different forces, which in turn determine each of the body's three doshas (energies).

Many techniques can help put your dosha back into balance. Our highly qualified therapists use aromatherapy, ayurvedic medicinal oils and specific massage techniques.

Ama-releasing abhyanga

This advanced treatment begins with a welcome foot ritual, followed by a stimulating exfoliation with salt and oil. Then, as a warm infusion of oils and herbs is applied to the vital energy centres of the face and body, surrender to an ayurvedic marma point massage. The ritual concludes with a deeply relaxing shirobhyanga or shirodhara head massage.

115 minutes – GBP 185.00

Ayurvedic body wraps

These beautiful, indulgent treatments each begin with a welcoming foot ritual. While your therapist customises the treatment for you, you sip tri-doshic tea, which fully grounds you before the treatment starts. Already you start to enjoy the relaxation. After a full-body salt and oil exfoliation, a dosha-specific massage using hot or cold stones is used to stimulate vital pressure points. Then allow yourself to drift off while your body is enveloped with natural linens and penetrating algae, mud or Oshadi clay. Ice-cold stones are then used over the scalp and forehead to smooth away any remaining tension. Choose from pitta pacifier, kapha stimulator or vata comforter.

85 minutes – GBP 185.00 each

Purva karma four hands massage

In this advanced ritual, two therapists work in synchronised harmony. Multiple stretching and rolling movements combine with long, deep strokes using body oils enriched with ayurvedic herbal concentrates. Polarity balancing and rocking movements ground and de-stress, and the mind is able to switch off. The treatment delivers the ultimate in tension releasing and nurturing; mental cleansing and spiritual bliss are achieved.

115 minutes – GBP 275.00

Shirodhara

In shirodhara (“head flow”), natural oils are poured over the third-eye chakra, releasing any harboured emotions and grounding the mind and spirituality. Available with certain massage and facial treatments only.

15 minutes – GBP 35.00

Shirobhyanga

During this advanced head massage, your therapist's healing hands are used to release deep-seated emotional and physical tension from the upper back, shoulders, neck and scalp. A range of different massage pressures and techniques is used, leaving your upper body feeling light and renewed.

25 minutes – GBP 50.00

Padabhyanga

Sip tri-doshic tea while your feet are bathed in an aromatherapy infusion of palmarosa, orange and myrrh. Your therapist will exfoliate your feet with a blend of refreshing spearmint and nourishing aloe vera, to stimulate and soften the skin. A specific pressure point massage is then performed with natural oils.

25 minutes – GBP 50.00

Shirodhara, shirobhyanga and padabhyanga are perfect complements for other holistic treatments.
