Guangzhou is Old Canton, and charmingly so. Narrow streets, pushcart vendors, and the corner bicycle repairman are still the norm in this city of 13 million people.
Guangzhou is also energy and change and all that makes cities great. Each is equally abundant and clearly visible, especially in the city’s bold architectural statements. Nowhere are these better represented than in our neighbourhood, Pearl River New City. From the twisting Canton Tower – nicknamed “the supermodel” – to Zaha Hadid’s Guangzhou Opera House, contemporary architecture is on display.
And as you would expect, Four Seasons takes prime position, occupying the top third of the 103-storey IFC Guangzhou, one of the tallest skyscrapers in the world.
