Welcome receptionA welcome reception around the Tented Camp's pool is an elegant introduction to the personal camp experience. Guests can mingle over wine selected from the adjacent cellar and enjoy canapés while taking in the enchanting starry night sky. CeremonyCamp's Peak, overlooking the crossroads of Thailand, Burma and Laos, offers an unforgettable one-of-a-kind locale for declaring your vows. Guests are transported to this hilltop plateau, located just behind the Tented Camp, in time for a sunset ceremony. For a dramatic entrance, the bride and groom may choose to ride elephants for the walk down the aisle. CocktailsGuests can toast the happy couple with cocktails at Burma Bar, where you will enjoy snacks and refreshments as the sun sinks toward the horizon, turning the sky hues of golden and crimson. When night sets in, hundreds of floating candles charm and delight as they drift down the river. ReceptionHost an elegant, intimate reception at the Elephant Camp, surrounded by dense jungle foliage. As you pass through a cascading waterfall of orchids, you'll be greeted by gentle elephants, the gatekeepers of this magically romantic venue, where candles and torches serenely light the darkening night sky. Even in the raw jungle, sophistication is not lost – white linens and silver grace the tables, while locally produced decorations provide a sense of place. At the Elephant Camp, the sprightly sounds of nature form the soundtrack for your evening while stars trace constellations on the indigo sky. The evening culminates in the launch of Khom Loy, traditional Thai lanterns, a ritual meant to carry best wishes closer to the heavens. Other events and activitiesThe Tented Camp offers myriad activities for the couple and their wedding guests. The day after the wedding, revisit the ceremony site and gather together for breakfast at Camp's Peak, where you'll enjoy a bird's-eye view of the Golden Triangle in full daylight. Or enjoy brunch alongside a friendly game of elephant polo for what is sure to be a unique and memorable experience for all. Ample opportunities exist to explore the region through jungle treks, fishing excursions and bird-watching outings. Guests can try their hand at Thai, Laotian and Burmese cooking with the help of the Tented Camp's master chefs, or learn weaving or bamboo carving from local craftsmen. For the full Tented Camp experience, guests can learn how to interact with and drive the resident elephants. Led by experienced elephant trainers and riders, called mahouts, this session will introduce guests to the rescued elephants at our camp and give them hand's-on experience with these gentle giants. |
