Rooftop restaurant Izumi is a trendy urban oasis, set on the most expansive rooftop in Geneva, presenting a Japanese-fusion concept, with inventive Nikkei cuisine. Relishing 360-degree views over Geneva (including Mont Blanc and the Jet D'eau) guests can sit back and savour a perfectly chilled aperitif, before indulging in the diverse flavours and textures of Japan, always with an imaginative twist. Continuing the hotel’s culinary theme, each exquisite plate is alive with colour and looks almost too good to eat. Unexpected combinations will delight food enthusiasts, such as sea bass sashimi with roasted garlic roundels; steamed sea bass with beech mushrooms and sushi pate with truffles, to name but a few of the exciting flavours on offer. Tiradito - a Japanese/ Peruvian dish of raw fish, cut in the shape of sashimi with an aspect similar carpaccio – is also a firm favourite.
In addition to the culinary inspiration, diners can while away the day watching the trams and bicycles circumnavigate the Old Town below, against the unspoiled backdrop of rugged mountains and the vigourous Jet d’Eau. With three seatings a day at noon, 7:00 pm and 9.15pm, service is personal and bookings are required.
