We can help you discover the best Dublin has to offer with a customized itinerary for your family. Please call or visit the Concierge to let us help personalize your visit.

Day 1 – Let Your Dublin Adventure of Discovery Begin

Day

  • Take all the hassle out of travel – arrange to have one of our limousine drivers greet you on arrival at Dublin Airport and transfer you to Four Seasons Hotel Dublin.
  • Children are important to us. Our “guests of the future” are welcomed with their own dedicated check-in, room keys and a special surprise.
  • Once you've settled in, visit our Concierge Team for some insight into the local area, then explore our peaceful location in the leafy surroundings of Ballsbridge. Nearby Herbert Park offers play areas, tennis, open spaces and a duck pond. We’ll even give you bread to feed the ducks!
  • Enjoy a light lunch in the Lobby Lounge or at one of the many local cafés or restaurants, then head to the Dundrum Town Centre. There’s plenty of great shopping for mums and dads, and a whole range of interesting kids’ activities. Create a unique piece of pottery at Giddy Studios, or become a golf ace at Rainforest Adventure Golf.
  • A short journey away in Sandyford, the Imaginosity Children’s Museum offers lots of interactive games and activities in two-hour sessions.
  • Ride the sleek LUAS tram from Dundrum back into the city. When you step off the tram, step back in time – take a horse and carriage ride from St. Stephen’s Green through Dublin’s elegant Georgian streets and squares. Don’t forget to bring an apple for the horse!

Evening

  • Back at the Hotel, there will be plenty of time to enjoy a swim in the peaceful surroundings of our spa before your evening meal.
  • For dinner, try the Café, located on the lobby level of the Hotel. Frequently changing menus offer plenty of choice for the whole family, and special menus are available for our youngest guests.
  • After dinner, settle in for a night of sweet dreams in our super comfortable Four Seasons beds.

Day 2 – Explore Dublin’s Viking past on land and water

Day
  • After a healthy breakfast in Seasons Restaurant, take the Dublin Bus shuttle and join the famous Hop-on, Hop-off city tour. Your voyage of discovery begins on the open-topped upper deck, with live commentary full of Dublin wit. Make sure you bring your camera!
  • What will you choose to stop and see? How about dinosaurs and amazing stuffed animals at the Natural History Museum (real Dubliners call it the “Dead Zoo”), a mummified cat and mouse in the crypt of Christchurch Cathedral, or an ancient book written by monks and housed in the Old Library of Trinity College (it’s just like Hogwarts!). Or perhaps you want to know all about leprechauns? Well, they have their very own museum, too!
  • After all that activity, it’s time for lunch. Try the famous fish ‘n’ chips at Leo Burdocks, or discover what “boxty” is at Gallagher’s Boxty House. There are endless possibilities, and our Concierge will be happy to provide suggestions.
  • After lunch, become a Viking for the afternoon. Board your World War II duck, put on your horned helmet and practise your Viking roar! The Viking Splash amphibious vehicles will take you on a unique adventure through Dublin’s streets and onto the water. Why did you learn that Viking roar? You’ll have to go on the tour to see why!
  • If you prefer a gentler pace, make your way to Dublin’s Phoenix Park, the largest walled urban park in Europe. You can rent a bike or even a tandem at the park gates and explore this amazing open space, where deer still roam freely. Dublin Zoo is located here, and there are often new arrivals to be seen.

Evening

  • Return to the Hotel and freshen up in the comfort of your guest room or suite before heading out to one of the great family-friendly restaurants in our neighbourhood. We love O’Connell’s and Roast for their great Irish ingredients, and Belucci’s for a tasty wood-fired pizza.

Day 3 – A train ride along Dublin bay, visiting coastal villages and an ancient castle

Day
  • To enjoy a relaxed breakfast in your guest room or suite, order breakfast through In-Room Dining.
  • After breakfast, take the three-minute walk to the local rail station and ride the DART train north to the pretty coastal village of Malahide.
  • Visit the amazing fairytale Malahide Castle*, once home to the Talbot family. Imagine you are a brave knight or a beautiful princess and explore the castle interior, its vaults and gardens, and learn all about the family that called this place their home for over 800 years.
  • Enjoy lunch at the award-winning Avoca Café, which serves wholesome and interesting food with a contemporary Irish twist.
  • After lunch, hop on the DART again and head towards the seaside village of Howth. Admire the fishing boats in the harbour and visit one of the local fishmongers to see their latest catch. Take a stroll on the pier to spot all sorts of sea birds, seals, and – if you’re really lucky – a dolphin.
  • Consider a boat trip to try your hand at catching your own fish, or just enjoy the thrill of a sea voyage to Ireland’s Eye, a small, uninhabited island directly north of Howth Harbour.
  • If you prefer to stay on dry land, take a walking adventure along the cliff path towards the Bailey Lighthouse. From here you can see the whole city.

Evening

  • The DART train will take you all the way back to Four Seasons. Enjoy your final dinner in our Seasons Restaurant, then move over to the Lobby Lounge for dessert or hot chocolate over the sounds of our pianist. Don’t forget to write a postcard to a friend or loved one, telling them about your magical time in Ireland at Four Seasons Hotel Dublin.

* Please note that Malahide Castle will reopen in July 2012 after extensive renovations.
