Drive One of the biggest shopping malls in Doha, and the region, offers world-famous brands and family facilities and outlets.
The new Museum of Islamic Art, Doha, is a truly inspirational project, acting in its design, location and positioning as a catalyst for the development of Doha as a cultural and educational centre of excellence. Designed by I.M. Pei, the Chinese-American architect behind the Louvre’s glass pyramid, the museum has nearly 5,000 square metres (53,820 square feet) of exhibition space in addition to generous education, conservation and presentation areas.
This is the original souk in Doha. Formerly the weekend market where the Bedouins would come to town to trade their meat, milk and other goods, the market is now a very popular destination for visitors and locals alike. Vendors sell everything from perfume and traditional clothing to spices, incense, sweets, souvenirs and much more.
The Souq Waqif is bursting with culture and Arabic cuisine, including many highly rated restaurants – Iranian, Moroccan, Lebanese and more.
The newest shopping mall in Doha, this Italian-themed mall is anchored by a Carrefour superstore and a Virgin Megastore, the best place to buy English-language books in the city. The mall also boasts a skating rink and indoor canals complete with gondoliers. It is adjacent to the Asian Games torch tower, making it easy for visitors to locate.
