Irving Arts Center
This local visual and performing arts center has a gallery and two stages for musical and theatrical entertainment. Also features a sculpture garden with a water fountain.
Dallas Cowboys Football at Texas Stadium
Texas landmark and home of the National Football League's Dallas Cowboys. Also a venue for local events and musical performances by major entertainers. Tours are available.
Crow Collection of Asian Art
This 300-piece museum features highlights from Trammell and Margaret Crow's collection of Asian art. The sculpture garden includes works by modern European artists.
Dallas Mavericks Basketball at American Airlines Center
Home to the Dallas Mavericks from November to April, Reunion Arena features National Basketball Association action at its finest. Call for a schedule of games. The arena includes a gift shop, and tours are available.
Dallas Museum of Art
The museum's permanent collections include pre-Columbian art; European post-war paintings; the Reves Collection of decorative arts, Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings; the Textile Gallery; Art of the Americas; and 800 pieces from ancient to modern African, Asian and Pacific artists, including Egyptian and Nubian art. General admission is free; however, there may be a fee for some special exhibitions or events.
Dallas Stars Hockey at American Airlines Center
Home of the National Hockey League's Dallas Stars, who play here from October to April. Call for a schedule of games. The arena includes a gift shop, and tours are available.
Dallas Theater Center
One of the most exciting regional theatres in the country, the Dallas Theater Center produces classic, contemporary and new plays.
Dallas Visual Art Center
A non-profit group that organises a diverse series of exhibitions year-round, as well as seminars, lectures, studio tours and other special events.
Dallas World Aquarium
The Dallas World Aquarium is a South American rainforest filled with rare and exotic indigenous plants, monkeys, and beautiful soft-billed toucans. The bamboo-planked paths lead down into the jungle and into the world's largest freshwater aquarium. Admission fee applicable. Dining and gift shops.
Majestic Theatre
Built in 1920, this downtown showplace features an ornate, elegant décor. Once a venue for vaudeville and movies, it is now home to a wide range of theatre and dance events.
Milan Gallery
Features recent works by Michael Wilkinson, Henrietta Milan and other national and international artists.
Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center
Home to the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
Nasher Sculpture Center
The Nasher Sculpture Center is an international focal point and catalyst for the study, installation, conservation and appreciation of modern and contemporary sculpture. Opened in 2003, it was founded by renowned Dallas arts patron Raymond Nasher. Admission fee is applicable. Restaurant and gift shop on site.
Southwest Gallery
Features 19th- and 20th-century American and European art and antiques, including works by Paul Welden, Kay Walton, Fran DiGiacomo, Manuel Garza, Mary Kay Krell and Ruth Greer.
The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza
The museum, located in the former Texas School Book Depository, examines the life, times, death and legacy of President John F. Kennedy.
Lone Star Park
World class horse racing. Thoroughbred racing from April to July, and quarterhorse racing from October to November. Features a family entertainment area and corporate entertainment suites. Call for a schedule of events.
Meadows Museum
Meadows Museum boasts the most comprehensive Spanish collection outside Spain, with works by El Greco, Goya, Miró, Murillo, Picasso and Velázquez.
Northpark Center
Northpark Center is a premier shopping centre offering more than 20 million annual shoppers a mix of the finest in luxury retail. It features more than 200 stores including Barney's, Neiman Marcus, Macy's, Dillards and Nordstrom, hosts year-round fashion events, and showcases art exhibits including major works by prominent artists from Andy Warhol to Jonathan Borofsky.
A 205-acre (83-hectare) theme park with more than 100 rides, shows and other attractions.
The Science Place
The Science Place is designed to educate and entertain adults and children, using hands-on exhibits and demonstrations. Permanent exhibits include Kids Place, Imaginature, Dental Gallery, Dino Dig and Electic Theater. Also features a planetarium and the TI Founders IMAX Theater. Admission fee applicable.
Fair Park Music Hall
Originally opened in 1925, the spanish baroque Music Hall is home to State Fair of Texas events and the Dallas Summer Musicals series.
Grapevine Vintage Railroad
This restored 1896 steam engine and turn-of-the-century coaches travel between Grapevine and Fort Worth. Admission fee. Check for seasonal changes in days of operation.
Texas Rangers Ballpark at Ameri Quest Field
Home of the Texas Rangers baseball team from April to September. Call for a schedule of games. The stadium includes numerous gift shops and a Texas Rangers baseball museum. The Ballpark's fabulous neo-classical architecture makes it a sight in itself. Tours are available.
Amon Carter Museum
This museum, designed by Philip Johnson, houses one of the world's largest photography collections. Other holdings and exhibits focus on American artwork.

Features plays, musicals and local theatre.
Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens
Sixty-six acres (27 hectares) of flowers and gardens on White Rock Lake. Features acres of azaleas, a toad fountain, Woman's Garden and a gift shop.
Fort Worth Museum of Science and History
Seasonal science exhibits and permanent exhibits include the Noble Planetarium; ExploraZone with hands-on math, science and technology exhibits; and Hands on Science demonstrations and touchable artifacts. Admission fee applicable.
Kimbell Art Museum
The permanent collection ranges from prehistoric art to early 20th-century Impressionists.
Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth
This new museum building is the second-largest of its kind in America (after the Museum of Modern Art in New York). Features a permanent collection and travelling exhibits on post-war contemporary art, including works by notable regional artists.
Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Performance Hall
Home to major performing arts organizations, including the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, Fort Worth Dallas Ballet and Fort Worth Opera.
Texas Motor Speedway
One of the largest race car speedways in the country, featuring NASCAR and Indy car racing. Call for a schedule of events. There is a gift shop, and tours of the speedway are available.
