General information
One of Europe’s most storied and sought-after destinations, Provence is a region in southeast France that stretches along 300 kilometres (186 miles) of the Mediterranean coast, reaching up to the mountains of the Alps. Long favoured by artists and writers for its golden sunshine and luminous natural beauty, the landscape presents enchanting broom-covered hills topped with picturesque villages, fields of lavender and mimosa, groves of olive trees and vineyards that stretch forever. Four Seasons presents Provence at its most picturesque, in a world brimming with wineries, flower markets, olive festivals and antique shops.
While nestled within Provence, Four Seasons also offers easy access to the glamorous Côte d’Azur. It’s just 30 minutes to the beaches of Cannes, and just 45 minutes to the urban sophistication of Nice. It’s also within a comfortable day trip of Aix-en-Provence, the Luberon, the Gorges du Verdon and the Isola 2000 ski resort. This astonishingly convenient location places a diverse realm of experiences at the doorstep of Four Seasons Resort Provence.

Seasonal highlights
January–March
From mid-January to March, yellow is the colour of Provence – the delicately fragrant mimosa blooms wind through the hills and are celebrated in Mandelieu each year, and citrus fruits adorn the town of Menton during its Lemon Festival. February is also the month of the Nice Carnival, with its flower parades, processions, concerts and fireworks.
May
May is the month for international, prestigious events in the French Rivera – the Cannes Film Festival is held for two weeks each year, touching the city's atmosphere with glamour, and the Monaco Grand Prix has been one of the most popular sports events since its inception in 1929.
June–July
In summer, music is celebrated all over France. Each year on June 21st, the national event Fête de la Musique takes place. In July, a variety of music festivals can be enjoyed, including the International Jazz Festival at Juan-Les-Pins, which has been welcoming artists – including Louis Armstrong, Ray Charles and Ella Fitzgerald – since 1960, and Les Nuits de Vence, which features performances by top Latin and Caribbean artists.
September – October
Every year in September, Saint-Tropez plays host to one of the world’s most beautiful boat regattas, featuring more than 300 ships of either modern or traditional design. In October, music is back in the air with the String Quartet Festival, for which surrounding villages become the concert halls for classical musicians from all over Europe.
December
In December, Christmas is all around. Enjoy the festive season amid the best of the Côte d’Azur – Christmas and truffle fairs, and fireworks throughout the region.
