Night at the Gallery
Our guests don’t just leave the Hotel rejuvenated from a day of impeccable service and pampering. Sometimes, they leave with one-of-a-kind works of art. Thanks to the art programme at Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta, on any given day you might find 40 to 70 paintings, photographs and other works displayed throughout the property.
We invite local and international artists to exhibit their work in our lobby, throughout the halls and in other public areas. Past participants have included luminaries like John van der Sterren, who grew up on the tea estates near Jakarta and whose paintings reflect a colourful style reminiscent of Van Gogh. Ken Pattern is an expatriate Canadian landscape artist who's shown with us, and we've also featured Nyoman Gunarsa, an Indonesian painter with his own gallery in Bali.
And your appreciation of the works doesn’t have to stop at the Hotel. If you see something you like, we can help make it yours. We’ve arranged with prominent Jakarta dealers like Duta Fine Arts and Sanggar Telaga Gallery to make the art available for purchase. So when your eye catches a particularly stunning lithograph by Ken Pattern, or a photograph by Rio Helmi, alert our Concierge and we’ll arrange the transfer from our collection to yours.
