The Real Deal

The first thing any visitor to Jackson Hole notices is that this is not your typical resort town. Frommer’s magazine says, “Of the few Rocky Mountain communities that successfully toe the line between resort and indigenous town, Jackson is a standout.” And a major part of that success is the local cuisine.

At Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole, guests are treated to everything from bison burgers and steak to Idaho trout. They even have a very special elk sushi roll. One of the major standouts, though, are the wyomatoes, which are tomatoes that are only grown in Wyoming and known for their colour, texture and sweetness. “Their flavour is outstanding,” says Michael Goralski, Executive Chef at Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole.

“Going local with their food,” says Director of Marketing Cory Carlson, “really creates a sense of place. “Our guests are coming largely from New York and California and already have access to some of the best restaurants,” he says. “So instead of giving them the same type of food they can get at home, we’re trying to give them local flavours they literally can’t get anywhere else.”

In addition to local food, travellers to Jackson Hole are treated to time-honoured traditions of the old west cuisine, such as chuckwagon dinners, where you’ll get a rib stickin’ meal of pan-seared elk chops, barbecued chicken, baked beans and corn-on-the-cob. After dinner, settle in for an evening of entertainment that includes authentic singing cowboys.

Now that’s what you call the real deal.
