Hawk Talk
|
There's nothing like a trip to the zoo to make you feel like a kid again. The thrill of getting up close and personal with some of nature's wildest beasts ignites primal instincts and fears. Unfortunately, many of these creatures are nocturnal and difficult to observe during daylight hours. At the newly renovated Coral Casino Beach and Cabana Club at Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara, kids of all ages get the chance to rub shoulders with three natural predators. Two days a week the Resort's Falconer hosts Hawk Talk, a fun and educational discussion featuring a hawk, a falcon and an owl. The mere presence of these birds of prey signal pesky seagulls to steer clear of the Club's Olympic sized swimming pool and Coral Café. Ever wonder how fast a falcon can fly? How about wanting to know what that thing is on the bird’s head? (By the way, it's a hood, used to calm the bird by removing unwanted visual stimulation). Whether fascinated by birds or simply a curious onlooker, Hawk Talk is an opportunity to get face-to-face with these majestic creatures. Ready to take a walk on the wild side? How about the kids?
