Built in a grove of trees, the temple's surroundings are serene and its origins can be traced back to the 14th century. The temple is popular with Western Buddhist practitioners, and some of the monks give sermons in English.

Known as the "Handicraft Highway," on Sankamphaeng Road you'll find everything from silk, silver, celadon, gems, antiquest, "Sa" paper, umbrella painting, lacquerware and pottery, to handmade furniture. Watch local craftsmen deftly weave silk, carve wood or transform clay into beautiful celadon pottery.
The oldest and biggest market in Chiang Mai city, selling fresh and dry foods, clothing and a variety of other products, from textiles to basketware, at local prices. You will also see an abundance of flowers.
