Horseback riding

During this 50-minute excursion, guests ride on well-trained horses along wooded and sandy riverside trails. Horses are available for every skill level; no previous riding experience is required.

Horseback ride and barbecue at La Estancia: A one-hour ride across the Uruguayan countryside brings you to La Estancia, where you can enjoy a typical local barbecue. Reservations are required one day in advance.

Horseback ride and local cuisine at La Estancia: An afternoon ride around beautiful lakes culminates at La Estancia, with a taste of local wine and cured meat, a local specialty.

Canoeing

Our qualified staff will be happy to assist you while you are canoeing in the Río de la Plata.

Canoe trip

On this journey, you will travel by canoe 4.5 kilometres (2.8 miles) down a meandering stream, taking in the beautiful Uruguayan countryside, watching birds and seeing beautiful flora. This is a relaxing but energetic activity for those who like a light adventure.

Polo lessons

Learn the basics of this challenging sport of kings as you practise with the bouche and mallet. Experience the skills of the horses and players alike during your one-hour lesson.

Cycling

Bicycles are available for guests who wish to explore the woods or grassland, or who would like to venture into the town or to Carmelo. The flat terrain surrounding the Resort encourages easy cycling.

Pastry lessons

Our pastry chef will tell you the secrets of the alfajor, the preferred treat for those with a sweet tooth in Uruguay and Argentina. Dressed in chef whites, you will create your own alfajores, and then you can take the knowledge home to surprise your loved ones.

Library

In the library, guests can enjoy a game of billiards or lounge comfortably on pillows on the leather-tiled floor or on the Siberian tiger-patterned fireplace rug. Lapacho and viraro woods are used throughout. Complimentary high-speed Internet access is available.
