Family Activities

Located in the heart of Budapest, the Hotel provides the perfect playground for children of all ages, as well as endless activities that families can enjoy together during their stay in the capital of Hungary.

Even before families arrive at the Hotel, our reservation team reaches out to collect all the details necessary to make the children's stay a truly memorable one. Upon arrival, young children are greeted with a treasure box full of goodies to choose from. The surprises continue once they enter their room, where amenities such as kid-size bathrobes and slippers, freshly baked chocolate cookies and hot popcorn are waiting. Children can also enjoy kid-friendly items from the refrigerated private bar.

Swimming in the infinity pool, trying to beat the parents to the lobby by taking the glorious marble staircase, or tasting unique acacia honey at Gresham Restaurant are just a few of the fun things kids can do at the Hotel.

Off-site Activities

Budapest is a must-see architectural and cultural gem that’s great for families. In addition to everyday activities such as Segway and bike rides, ice skating, swimming, visits to the thermal baths and just playing in the many city parks, families may want to try some of the following unique activities.

Animal Attractions

  • Budapest Zoo

Book a “Behind the Scenes” experience at the Budapest Zoo, located near the City Park, and let the zookeepers entertain and educate the children about the animals.

  • Tropicarium

The Tropicarium is one of the largest sea aquariums in Europe including sharks and alligators and offers a view of hundreds of other species through the observation tunnel. (Located in South Buda.)

  • Budapest Circus

The Budapest Circus operates throughout the year and includes animal shows, magicians and acrobatic performances.

Children's Shows

  • Budapest Puppet Theatre

International fairy tales and Hungarian folk stories are presented in Hungarian, but language is seldom an issue, given that shows are highly visual and original.

  • Planetarium

Experience an educational program that takes visitors on an exploration of the universe, from trips to the moon and Mars to surveys of planet Earth and the solar system. Some shows are 3D.

  • Palace of Arts classical concerts

Enjoy an introduction to classical music in a child-friendly, interactive format. Baby concerts are also available for children up to 12 months old. The journey begins with a small concert and then an interactive demonstration of the musical instruments – how they work, the sounds they make. Children are then invited to create their own instruments from all kinds of fun and unusual materials.

Museums

  • Palace of Miracles

This child-friendly museum presents scientific concepts to inquisitive young minds in a fun and easy to understand format. Explore the physics of sound on the giant saxophone, find out how to fly a plane in the wind channel or feel what it’s like to walk on the moon.

Trains and Rides

  • Children’s Railway in the Buda Hills

Board the railway at any stop along its 11-kilometre (7-mile) route through the hills and forests of Buda. What is most interesting about this railway is that it is operated by children, under the supervision of an adult attendant.

  • Chairlift

The Libego is a chairlift that glides above Jànos-Hegy, the highest hill in Budapest.
