Weather
Hungary's climate is temperate, and every season has its attractions. Spring arrives early in April and mild, wet weather may prevail through May and early June. Summer can be very hot, bringing with it the bright sun of the Mediterranean. The long, warm, sunny autumn, known in Hungary as Old Ladies' Summer, helps produce fine fruits and wine grapes. Winter is relatively short. Often cloudy and damp, it is sometimes brilliantly sunny.
