Green Programs

At Four Seasons Hotel Boston, we're dedicated to doing our part to reduce our carbon footprint, providing a safe, clean and sustainable environment for our guests and staff. As active members of the Boston Green Tourism Lodging Committee, we pride ourselves at being a leader in the industry. Below is a brief glimpse at some of our exciting green practices.

Recycling
Single Stream Recycling: This program allows for increased volume and capture ratio of goods.

Sustainability
Green Roof: The hotel boasts its very own green roof, a green ecosystem within an urban area that helps to reduce urban heat load. The Green Roof features an Urban Garden, in which Executive Chef Brooke Vosika and the culinary team grows a variety of fruits, vegetables and herbs, a reflection of their dedication to serving the freshest local and sustainable fare.

Food Waste: Our organic waste decomposition machine allows disposal of food waste at the point of generation, therefore eliminating all traditional steps associated with waste removal and disposal.

Conservation
Green Housekeeping Program: Guests are presented with the option to have beds remade with the current linens. The Housekeeping team also uses vinyl trash bags to collect all recyclable guest room waste. Additionally, outdated magazines from guest rooms are provided to employees for their reading pleasure.
