Stroll Boston's quaint cobblestone streets, visit the city's aquarium or children's museum, tour Fenway Park or cruise Boston Harbor. The Concierge can arrange exclusive tours or access at select sites with advanced notice. We invite you to discuss your needs with us.
Day one
- Cruise the city's historic sites on land and water on an amphibious "duck" tour.
- Stroll down Newberry Street and stop at J.P. Licks, Boston's favourite ice cream shop for over 25 years, and Life Is Good, a store offering fun and funky t-shirts.
- Visit the Public Garden and relax on a swan-boat ride; find the famous Make Way for Ducklings statues – a prime photo op for the kids.
- In the evening, explore the quaint cobblestone streets of Beacon Hill, once home to Louisa May Alcott and Robert Frost.
- Dine at Cheers, Boston's most famous restaurant, where you'll enjoy savings on merchandise.
- After dinner, browse the unique shops on Charles Street and snap a family photo on Acorn Street, the most photographed street in Boston.
Day two
- Explore Freedom Trail, a 2.5-mile (4-kilometre) red-brick walking trail. Starting in the Boston Common, you'll wind your way past the city's landmarks, including Paul Revere House and the Bunker Hill monument. End your journey in Charlestown at the USS Constitution, America's oldest commissioned naval vessel.
- Board the Charlestown Ferry and take a short ride across Boston Harbor to Long Wharf.
- Walk across the Rose Kennedy Greenway to the bustling marketplace at Faneuil Hall – a perfect spot to grab lunch, watch street performers and shop for souvenirs at the many eclectic shops and carts.
- In the evening, visit the North End, the city's oldest neighbourhood, where you'll find the historic Old North Church and city's narrowest house.
- Dine at the iconic Regina Pizzeria, then head to Gelateria, where you can choose from 50 flavours of gelato, or Modern Pastry for authentic Italian pastries.
Day three
- Spend the morning at the Children's Museum exploring the innovative and fun exhibits, ideal for kids up to eight years old. Check out the Construction Zone and Japanese House exhibits and snap a photo outside the giant milk bottle, a favourite Boston landmark.
- For lunch, enjoy a lobster roll at James Hook & Company or nosh on gourmet sandwiches at Flour Bakery.
- Visit the New England Aquarium – the hands-on Edge of the Sea exhibit allows kids to get up close and personal with a variety of marine life, including sea stars, horseshoe crabs and sea urchins.
- At sunset, board a Boston Harbor Cruise; this 90-minute sight-seeing tour explores all the history, sights and lore of Boston Harbor. You'll also witness the USS Constitution's sunset serenade – a canon is fired and a flag lowered to signal the day's end.
Day four
- Visit the Museum of Science and see what's playing on the five-storey Imax dome screen.
- For lunch, stop in at Cardullo's, a local landmark since 1950, for a sandwich to go, or venture off the beaten path to Darwin's, a unique local deli and café.
- In the afternoon, take the award-winning (and complimentary) Unofficial Tour of Harvard University.
- Head to the Harvard Museum of Natural History.
- In the evening, explore the charming streets, historic sites and funky shops of Harvard Square – don't miss the Curious George & Friends toy shop and Harvard Coop.
- Dine at Mr. Bartley's Gourmet Burgers, famous for their burgers, fries and frappés. Top it off with a trip to Herrell's Ice Cream, where you can choose from 198 flavours of fresh hand-made ice cream, frozen yogurt and sorbet.
Day five
- Visit Fenway Park, where Babe pitched, The Kid hit, Yaz dazzled and Ortiz still thrills young fans. Take the tour for a behind-the-scenes look at one of America's oldest and most beloved ballparks.
- Stop for lunch at La Verdad for casual Mexican fare, or dine on fresh seafood at Eastern Standard.
- In the afternoon, experience Tomb, a highly interactive adventure tour that dares you to enter an Egyptian pyramid and take on a variety of challenges to solve the pharaoh's puzzle.
- When evening comes, unwind at the Hotel with a film from the Concierge's extensive movie library. Order dinner through In-Room Dining and settle in for a relaxing evening.
- Or hit the town once more with a picnic basket prepared by the Hotel – dine al fresco at the Boston Common or along the Charles River Esplanade; ask the Concierge about weekly outdoor concerts.
