Lucie Briquet: A Philosopher in the Spa

At Four Seasons, we take the pampering of our guests seriously. So does Lucie Briquet. A Tahitian-born spa therapist who works here at Four Seasons, Lucie has been honing her craft for a long time. She has travelled extensively to our other resort spas learning new treatments, exchanging therapies, and sharing her philosophies. At every destination, her demonstrations elicit raves—as does Lucie. She exudes a warm and gentle spirit, and her artisanship reflects the character of the Polynesian people. In all aspects, she’s ambassador for the country.

Lucie developed many of her rituals by combining ancient traditions with Western practices and her own therapeutic disciplines. One such ritual, called Kahaia Haven, starts with an exfoliating body scrub complete with double Tahitian black pearl powder and native vanilla. Next, Lucie kneads sore muscles with expert precision, and administers a facial made up of organic algae extracts. Throughout the ritual, Lucie’s goal is to purify the mind and body while renewing the spirit.

Like many Polynesian therapists, Lucie believes that the body and mind can achieve harmony and balance through holistic therapies. Consider her Taurumi Mind and Body Ritual. Lucie begins Taurumi, which translates to “health in the hands,” with a skin-softening body scrub made of organic oils. She then soothes the body with a Polynesian-inspired massage that blends ancient techniques with modern methods. Throughout the ritual, Lucie focuses on the invisible lines that crisscross the body, encouraging the free flow of energy throughout the system.

Lucie brings a world of knowledge and a Polynesian smile to the Four Seasons Spa. She’s here now, waiting to welcome you to paradise—and to restore your mind, your body, and your soul to a heavenly state.
