Sample itinerary
Four Seasons is pleased to help customise an itinerary for your group or party in the natural sanctuary of Aviara in southern California, just 30 minutes north of San Diego. The following is a sample group itinerary. We invite you to discuss your needs with us.
Day 1
Arrival at Resort
Upon your arrival at Four Seasons Resort Aviara, unwind and refresh in the comfort of your room before attending a themed reception and dinner.
Evening
Choose from:
- "Taste of San Diego" reception and dinner – Lively surf band and street performers complement sumptuous local cuisine served from decorated food stations.
- "It's a Jungle Out There" reception and dinner – Dinner is complemented by live entertainment, featuring Joan Embry and her exotic animals, of The Tonight Show fame, all accompanied by a steel drum band.
Day 2
Day
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in one of our restaurants. Afterwards, explore the Resort's facilities or venture further afield.
- Play a game of golf or tennis, or relax in the spa.
- Explore the beautiful scenery while kayaking, mountain biking or going on a nature walk.
- Take surfing lessons.
- Join a chocolate-making class or floral centerpiece instructional course.
- Tour the seaside enclave of La Jolla.
- Join a sailing regatta with Dennis Connor.
- Take a coastal scenic bike tour.
- Shop or have lunch in the Mediterranean-village setting of the Carlsbad Company Stores.
- Top Gun at MCAS Miramar – Enjoy a USO Show, all-American buffet, jet display and games.
Evening
Choose from:
- "Fantaseas" reception at the Stephen Birch Aquarium, with dinner in La Jolla. The evening features fine hors d'oeuvres, an open bar, belly bars and entertainment.
- Buffet dinner on the aircraft carrier Midway with Navy personnel.
- Dinner at the Gemological Institute of America – Take in breathtaking views from the bluff and feast your eyes on the exquisite jewels on display.
Day 3
Day
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in one of our restaurants. Afterwards, explore the Resort's facilities or venture further afield.
- Pamper yourself in the Resort's European-style spa retreat.
- Enter a golf or tennis tournament.
- Join a sailing regatta with Dennis Connor or fishing derby.
- Visit Camp Pendleton for team-building activities.
- Experience the thrill of the Palomar Plunge bike trail.
- Visit Sea World or tour a winery in the Temecula Valley.
- Participate in a wildlife workshop at the San Diego Wild Animal Park, and savour an African feast while being entertained by the Bitoto African band.
- Go on a shopping excursion.
Evening
Choose from:
- Buffet dinner at the Resort's Clubhouse, followed by night golf and putting contests; or be entertained by magicians and aura readers.
- Spend the evening at Rancho Le Reina in Rancho Santa Fe, where the elegant décor enhances a sit-down dinner.
- A dinner cruise on San Diego Bay includes casino games, DJ and Broadway-style show.
- Enjoy a four-course dinner at the Escondido Performing Arts Centre, accompanied by a 30-piece orchestra.
Day 4

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in one of our restaurants. Afterwards, explore the Resort's facilities or venture further afield.
- Play golf or tennis, or relax in the spa.
- Go on a photo safari at the San Diego Wild Animal Park.
- Experience the thrill of K-21 cart racing circuit.
- Explore the museums of Balboa Park, including the Museum of Art, Automotive Museum and Natural History Museum.
- Go hot-air ballooning.
Evening
Choose from:
- "Vine to Wine" – Enjoy a sit-down dinner with live entertainment, amid winery décor.
- Finale dinner – A five-course dinner with Broadway show in an elegant setting decorated with stunning florals.
Day 5
Departure
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in one of our restaurants before your departure.
