Alexandria's temperate climate makes it one of the region's most popular resort destinations, especially during shoulder seasons (April/May and October/November), when northern coast sea breezes keep temperatures at a comfortable level. In the dry desert climate of summer (June to September), temperatures can reach 32°C (90°F). Winter (December to March) is cooler and more humid, with occasional rain. Alexandria is considered the wettest city in Egypt, receiving about 20 centimetres (7.8 inches) of rain every year.
