Paris is no longer burning, not since the recent ban on lighting up in public places. But a lot more has changed than just the blue haze hanging over the city's restaurants and bars. Many observers lamented that France's national pastime would be in jeopardy once smokers could no longer linger over a cognac or glass of wine.
Four Seasons Hotel George V saw no need for Paris' famed café society to end. In fact, take a close look inside Le Bar, the Hotel's cozy retreat, and you'll see patrons relaxing with a drink and cigar, savoring each other's company. Ce n'est pas possible? Take a closer look and you'll see the cigars are made of chocolate — hey, there's a lot to be said for the placebo effect.
Presented on a glass tray with a flourish of chocolate "smoke" wisps, the cigars were created by master chocolatier Jean Paul Hévin. This confectionary genius works only with the finest cocoa beans and is known for taste-testing all of his products himself. Pick up these cheeky treats at Le Bar or at the Hotel's boutique and then enjoy them everywhere — especially wherever smoking is prohibited.
Whoever said, "Close, but no cigar" couldn't have been more wrong. Visit Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris and become an aficionado.
